We are seeking an Instrumentation Design Technician to join our Engineering Department and support instrumentation engineering and design activities for onshore Oil & Gas plants (offshore experience will be considered a plus).The role requires close collaboration with other engineering disciplines and involvement throughout the full project lifecyclefrom basic engineering to detailed design and site support.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop basic and detailed instrumentation engineering deliverables.
- Prepare and review:
- Instrument datasheets
- Instrument Index
- Technical specifications and requisitions
- Hook‑up drawings, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams
- Instrument layout and field installation drawings
- Select and specify process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical).
- Interface and coordinate with Process, Piping, Electrical, and Automation disciplines.
- Provide technical support during:
- Procurement phases (technical bid evaluations)
- Construction, installation, and commissioning activities
- Interface with vendors and clients for technical clarifications and approvals.
- Verify compliance with international codes and standards (IEC, ISA, ATEX, API, ISO).
- Support troubleshooting and provide technical assistance during project execution.
Education
- Technical diploma (Industrial Technician – Electrical / Automation / Mechanical) or Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Instrumentation Design Technician.
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Complex Industrial Plants.

Skills required
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of industrial process instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&IDs
- Instrument loop documents
- Basic understanding of DCS / PLC system interfaces.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification (ATEX / IECEx).
- Experience with design tools such as:
- AutoCAD / SmartPlant / AVEVA / E3D (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with international standards:
- IEC, ISA, API, ISO
- Ability to read technical documentation in English.
Languages
- English: good written and spoken proficiency.
- Italian: considered a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in international EPC projects.
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
